Dr. Claudio Bernardi was born in Rome in 1956. He is married and has three children. In 1981 he graduated at the Faculty of Medicine of the Rome University " La Sapienza " and specialized in General Surgery with a thesis on mammary reconstruction.

His activity in plastic surgery started in 1984, at the "Santo Volto" private Clinic of Rome, as Dr. F. Saccomanno's first assistant. He also started a multiple-stage training program for specialization in Plastic Surgery at the "Serviço de Cirurgìa Plàstica do Sanatorio Santa Catarina" in San Paolo, Brazil, Prof. Roberto A.B. Millan, acknowledged by the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery.

Clinical stages at the "Kommunehospital" in Aarhus, Denmark, and at the "Dijkzigt Hospital" in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

More than 140 scientific papers published in national/international journals, he presented his clinical experience in more than 100 relations at national and international congresses.

In Aesthetic Surgery he is a specialist in surgery of the face performed through planning of individual or combined procedures such as lifting, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, lip or chin surgery as well as other face treatments. He is also expert in body contour surgery, breast surgery, abdominoplasty, liposuction, liposculpture and obesity treatment. Complementary treatments of Aesthetic Medicine ( filler, botox, peeling..) are performed as well.

In Reconstructive Surgery he is concerned with congenital malformations, skin tumors, scars and mammary reconstruction. Important clinical experience in the reconstructive surgery of the perineum as a solution for many diseases such as non-healing wounds, lipofilling in selected cases of faecal incontinence.
